After graduating from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, Jon spent the next 45 years in the banking industry. Highlights of his career include seven years as a bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He was president and CEO of Bank of Salem and under his leadership, the bank received four awards from TheStreet.com for being in the top 5% of the banks in the country. In the last 10 years of his career before retiring, he was a Commercial Loan Officer and took great pride in listening to his customers and working toward fair and equitable lending solutions to meet the needs of customers and the bank. He has been married for over 40 years, has four grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter.
