- Appointed: May 2026
- Current Term Expires: December 31, 2027
My work as a funeral director for the past 28 years has shaped how I approach service, responsibility, and community trust. Every day, I serve families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives, where compassion, integrity, and clear communication are essential. That experience has taught me the importance of listening closely, treating people with respect, and making thoughtful decisions that have lasting impacts. I will bring that same mindset to serving as a Water and Light Commissioner.
I am motivated by a strong belief in local accountability and transparent governance. Decisions about water and electricity should be made with the community’s long-term well-being in mind, balancing fiscal responsibility with forward-thinking investments. I want to help ensure that our utility continues to provide high-quality service while adapting to future challenges such as population growth, environmental sustainability, and evolving energy needs.
Ultimately, I see this role as a continuation of my commitment to service — supporting the well-being of our community not only in times of loss, but in the everyday systems people rely on. I am truly honored to bring a steady, compassionate, and community-focused perspective to this position.
My past community and civic involvements have included, Rotary Board Member, Alzheimer’s Association Board, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Center, American Red Cross Executive Board, Oregon Funeral Directors Association Board, City of Salem Community Police Review Board, and Celtic Heritage Alliance Board.
I reside here in McMinnville with my wife, Lisa (Dollar), and two daughters, Alexa and Haley and my dog, Lucy. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing, college sports, traveling, and spending time with family.
