McMinnville Water & Light has earned a first-place award recognizing outstanding achievement in safety from the Northwest Public Power Association. Winners were announced April 17 at the association’s Engineering & Operations Conference in Spokane, Washington.
“Safety of our employees and the public is our highest priority,” said John Dietz, McMinnville Water & Light general manager. “I’m proud that our employees demonstrate that commitment in everything they do.”
This year’s Safety Award winners were selected based on their 2024 safety performance, including incident and severity rates, as reported on each utility’s safety contest form. The awards celebrate the commitment of NWPPA member utilities to foster safe workplaces and protect their teams on the job.
Kurt Miller, NWPPA CEO and executive director, said safety is at the core of everything their members do. “These awards recognize not just numbers, but a culture of care, responsibility, and dedication that protects every employee and strengthens the entire public power community.”
