Mayor seeks applicants for MW&L Commission seat

Are you interested in serving your community by making important budget and policy decisions related to water, electric and fiber service for the residents of McMinnville? If so, this opportunity is for you!

Mayor Remy Drabkin is seeking applications from residents who would like to join the McMinnville Water and Light Commission. The new commissioner will serve a 4-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

Since 1905, McMinnville Water and Light has been governed under the City Charter by a five-member commission, which is led by the mayor who is an ex-officio member. MW&L commissioners serve a vital role by representing the community to McMinnville Water and Light and by representing MW&L to the community. Board members learn about the inner workings of MW&L and assure the success of the utility by approving plans that align with its mission, vision, policies and strategic goals.

Interested residents should review the packet materials and submit the form on the MW&L website. The deadline to apply is Sept. 3, 2024.
