ABOUT THE POSITION

A Journeyman Lineman works as a member of a crew to construct, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain an underground and overhead electrical transmission and distribution system. Our ideal candidate will highly value safety, team collaboration and will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a variety of situations. Our linemen perform a variety of work which may include O&M of substation equipment and apparatus, performing switching procedures, operating test equipment, and operating excavators and digger derricks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

In order to be considered for the selection process, applicants must have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Oregon Class A CDL driver’s license with air brake, and acceptable driving history.
  • Successful completion of an approved Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship.
  • Upon employment, qualified under IBEW Local 125 as Journeyman Lineman.
  • CPR and First Aid cards; ODOT Traffic Flagger card; proficiency at pole top and vault rescue.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
  • Hot sticking experience is a plus.

ABOUT THE UTILITY

MW&L operates and maintains the City of McMinnville’s potable water system and electric system for the community. 63 employees deliver services for the municipal utility. Established in 1889, MW&L has a strong reputation as a financially sound, reliable utility, and boasts some of the lowest rates in the northwest.

MW&L is open Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.  MW&L is closed on Fridays.
