MW&L desires to obtain a professional auditing firm to perform annual audits of the financial statements for McMinnville Water & Light, a component unit of the City of McMinnville, Oregon. The audits shall be performed in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America and Minimum Standards for Audits of Oregon Municipal Corporations (OAR 162).
The term of the auditing services agreement shall be three years with the option for two one-year extensions upon mutual agreements of the parties. The contracted auditor shall render an opinion on the financial statements for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2026, 2027 & 2028, as well as draft the financial statements for those fiscal years.
The auditors will be required to observe the adequacy of the system on internal controls, and if weaknesses are noted, make appropriate recommendations. The auditor’s comments shall be included in their letter to MW&L’s Board of Commissioners (those charged with governance).
