Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Construction Management. Job Description:This is managerial and engineering work in the water and electric departments for McMinnville Water & Light. The E&O Manager is responsible for the leadership and management that results in the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of water, electric and fiber optic systems to produce reliable, cost effective service. The E&O Manager is expected to accomplish this through the coordination of the Division’s resources, consultants and personal technical contributions. The Division’s resources are organized into four Departments: Electric Operations, Water Operations, Technical Services, and System Planning who collectively rely on this position for leadership and management support. The E&O Manager is a member of the senior management team and is expected to make contributions in the overall management of McMinnville Water & Light, specifically in the development of both long and short term strategies to meet McMinnville Water & Light’s mission. The ability to manage change and facilitate close organizational coordination is expected. In part the work involves preparing short and long range plans and capital budgets for expansion and upgrade of the electric, water, and fiber optic systems. Good communication performance is essential and is accomplished in writing, in person, or over the telephone with engineers, developers, contractors, MW&L customers, consulting firms, and the Bonneville Power Administration. Assignments are discussed with the General Manager for policy interpretations and implementation guidelines. Work performance is evaluated by the General Manager by informal conferences and review of reports for the effective and efficient operation of the Division and the attainment of Division objectives.
